How To Properly Taste WhissssKEH

I wanted to get away from most of the negative topics I blog about on here and try something fun.

Most people cannot drink whisky "straight" .... its too strong, it turns their stomach, or numbs theirs taste buds.   I love whisky and I love trying new whiskies.  Its been said that the distillation process was practiced  by the Babylonians in Mesopotamia in the 2nd Millennium  BC.

Will you take this wonderful journey with me ?

Grab a glass and sit down down.... don't mind my glass, its the only one I could find.

STEP ONE = CHOOSE A WHISKEY

STEP TWO = GRAB SOME ICE ICE BABY ... OR SIPPING STONES

STEP THREE =  SENSE THE  AROMA ?  SMELL IT !

WAIT !

Side Note.... some people actually add a little water to open up the Spirit and it also prevents your taste buds from becoming numbed by the alcohol.  I don't usually do this because im more of a pure taste kinda guy, butttt if you must...

STEP FOUR = TASTE IT

Fix the aroma and taste with associations.  The smell of new-moon grass, for example, a vanilla - flavored toffee or the rich taste of spice or fruit.

OK NOW ....

roll the whisky around in your mouth and "chew" it.  Give the flavors time to develop: the whisky has been aging for years.  If you do this right, you'll really be able to understand what im saying

STEP FIVE = FINALLY THINK ABOUT THE FINISH

or that lingering taste that remains.... How consistent is it ?  What new flavors emerge ?

I promise once you practice this,  you'll find yourself drinking like a real man in no time.

Hope this was a learning experience for you guys !
